Balloon Rides
Uplifting Dreams and Giving New Perspectives
If you live in, or are visiting, the Greater Kansas City area and still have a Hot Air Balloon Ride on your bucket list, Kansas City AeroSports can help you make a ride your reality. When we are in town from the Spring through the Fall and the weather is conducive to balloon flying, we love to fly rides over our home city! We offer both tether (tied to the ground with long ropes) and free-flight (From launch and full flight to landing) rides on a limited basis.
“The most professional team, the experience unbelievable.” Ray Cole, passenger in Kansas City
Oh, what a view!
We fly anywhere from treetop level to several thousand feet in the air giving you one of the most beautiful views of the area! Don’t be surprised to see a variety of wildlife and gain a new appreciation for garden layouts. During our flight, the Balloon Chase Crew will follow on the ground beneath us and meet us wherever we land. Once the balloon is packed away, you will be treated to a post-flight ceremony where each passenger receives a personalized “First Balloon Flight” Certificate to commemorate your adventure.
Reservations and Preparation
Kansas City AeroSports does not set a specific calendar of available dates and times for balloon ride passenger flights. We have plenty of beautiful flying days in our part of the country; however, we find it best to connect with our passengers first to discuss scheduling availability of all parties involved.
Please complete the Contact Us form and tell us if you are interested in taking a Hot Air Balloon Passenger Ride or hiring us for Tether Rides. Let us know your ideal timeframe and if your flight is to celebrate a specific occasion.
Once we have visited with you and secured your reservation with a deposit, we will contact you via phone the evening before a morning flight or the early afternoon of an evening flight. You will be given a meeting time and location. NOTE: It is very important that we have a correct contact number for you and very important that you are on time.
After all paperwork and payments are collected, the balloon will be inflated and prepared for your adventure to begin.

WEATHER: Safety is our primary concern. As with any outdoor sport, we have no control over inclement weather conditions. Wind speed, direction, precipitation, temperature, humidity and weather systems moving within at least a 100-mile radius must all be taken into consideration. That being said, the pilot wants to fly as much as you do, so he or she will be monitoring all of these conditions closely to do their best to fly AND keep everyone involved as safe as possible. All flight and weather related decisions are solely made by the pilot-in-command of your balloon ride – tether or free flight.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Passengers MUST give at least 24 hours notice for cancellation to avoid charges. If your flight is postponed by the pilot for any reason, you will be given alternative dates to ride. Refunds are only made if alternative arrangements cannot be made, and only on a case-by-case basis. NOTE: Kansas City AeroSports reserves the right at any time to cancel any flight or refuse any passenger for any reason in the interest of safety. The decision will be made by the pilot-in-command of the balloon.
GIFT CERTIFICATES: You may purchase gift certificates for $275 per passenger.
